Carlos Antúnez started working in the property business at a very young age, beginning his career with Antúnez Propiedades, the company founded by his grandfather in 1908 and inherited by his father.

In 1970, Mr. Antúnez established himself in Brazil where he remained for a period of three years. During that time, he worked for Construtora Adolpho Lidenberg. From 1974 to 1977 Mr. Antúnez lived in Caracas, Venezuela, and from 1978 to 1986, he lived in London and in both cities, Mr. Antúnez represented an American Foundation.

Mr. Antúnez worked for more than a decade in the prestigious office of Luis Montalva Quindos in Santiago. He participated in the transaction of numerous real estate developments and was especially involved in the brokerage of such developments. Additionally, Mr. Antúnez was in charge of managing commercial properties for different funds and investors.

In 1994, in association with Joaquin Lira R., Mr. Antúnez founded LirAntúnez Propiedades S.A. In just five years, the company succeeded in becoming one of the most outstanding real estate firms in Santiago, Chile. In 1999, after CB Richard Ellis acquired LirAntúnez Propiedades S.A., Mr. Antúnez became Co-Managing Director for the company’s office in Santiago. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing CB Richard Ellis’ operations in the Santiago market, and its potential growth.

Since January 2008 Carlos has been the President of CBRE in Chile.

Mr. Antúnez majored in Law from the Universidad Católica de Santiago in Chile.

He is member of the National Chamber of Real Estate (ACOP) and American Chamber (AmCham).
